The Fitness Mindset: Stop Starting Over
August 3, 2026 · 5 min read

Most people do not need a better program. They need to stop abandoning the one they have.
Restarting is the real problem. Six weeks in, a bad week hits, and the plan gets scrapped for a new one. Progress needs continuity more than it needs perfection.
Define your minimum. Everyone has good weeks. Decide what a bad week still looks like and defend that line.
Judge on the quarter. Twelve weeks is the shortest honest window to assess a program.
Separate identity from outcome. You are someone who trains. That is true on the days the training is bad.
Play the long game. Five years of imperfect consistency beats six months of perfection every single time.
